Ledsham is an idyllic village located within West Yorkshire. It boasts the oldest church in the county (8th century Anglo Saxon 670 AD) and a true community spirit which has supported its local Fayre for over 50 years.
The Parish includes Ledston, Ledston Luck & Fairburn. This beautiful village retains its distinctive rural heritage, with a mix of traditional buildings and residential properties, arable farming and open fields with animals grazing.
Ledsham Fayre is usually held annually, on the first Saturday in September. The local cricket field plays host to stalls, refreshments and entertainment, buzzing with up to 5,000 visitors on a sunny Fayre day.
Ledsham Fayre is unable to confirm that it will continue.
We have an ageing committee and several members feel unable to continue after 50 years of service and so we are reduced to an unsustainable level....no we are not kidding, there will be no Fayre in 2017.
We are very sad to see our Fayre come to an end and so we are planning a meeting on 9th January 2017 in Ledsham Church at 7.30pm.
It is an open meeting, for anyone and everyone, who has a view or an idea. Maybe the Fayre will be different next time, maybe it won't happen in its present form, but something else will.
If you have ideas or a contribution to make, please attend the meeting or use the contact form below. Because really this time the fayre can't and won't happen with the few remaining committee members.
